Our challenge was creating or finding appropriate sound effects. An alligator growl was used for the dinosaur and footsteps in leaves for the featured footstep noises. The pitch was lowered to make the steps sound more gigantic. Reverb helped a number of the effects get even “bigger”.
We’d like to take credit for making everything we do the best. The fact is this spot was all in the concept and writing. It uses lyrics to a Rolling Stones rock song, recited as fine poetry. Our client obtained the right to use the song to promote the IMAX movie and this radio spot brought viewers into the domed theatre by the droves.
The agency deserves all the credit in choosing a voice talent, which was critical to the spot. The deep, commanding voice, with a hint of wry humor was recorded via ISDN phone patch with California. We added sound effects to “kill” the different types of weeds.
This audio is really the track for a television spot. Music was chosen from our library before the v.o. was recorded. The talent was asked to read to the style of the music and the result is a classy, soft read. Exactly what the client was looking for.
